Your day starts with a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Arusha to the northern entrance of Lake Manyara National Park, passing through scenic countryside and the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Once inside the park, your game drive begins in the lush groundwater forest, where you may encounter troops of baboons, blue monkeys, and sometimes elephants moving quietly through the trees. As you continue toward the open plains and lakeshore, the landscape opens up dramatically, offering chances to spot giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and other grazing wildlife.

One of the park’s most iconic highlights is the search for tree-climbing lions, often seen resting on acacia branches or moving through the woodland areas. This rare behavior makes the park especially unique among Tanzania’s safari destinations.

At midday, you stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the lake, where large flocks of flamingos and other waterbirds gather along the shoreline, creating a beautiful natural display.

In the afternoon, you continue your game drive exploring different habitats within the park before gradually heading out. By late afternoon, you begin your return journey to Arusha, ending the day with rich wildlife sightings and unforgettable scenery.
